Another prestigious location for Metz (Moselle) : The Lantern Trail, one of the main attractions of the Christmas festivities, tops a national ranking established by Google Maps.

It is even the second highest rated Christmas attraction in Europe. But how did Google Maps establish its location? Google gives us the answer.

Sites that collect between 100 and 500 reviews

Google Maps has “listed the top rated Christmas markets and attractions on Google Maps that have between 100 and 500 reviews.” At the time of writing, the Lantern Trail has achieved a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 493 reviews, making it the highest ranked destination.

The Lantern Trail is an exception, as its four followers in the rankings are Christmas markets in their own right. We find them in orderEguisheim and off Kaysersberg-Vinyardin the Haut-Rhin, then the ofObernai (Bas-Rhin) and finally it off Montbeliard (Doubs).

Second at European level

The Sentier des Lanternes also achieves an excellent ranking on a European level, as it comes second on the continent, ahead Christmas house to Walschleben (Germany)a house fully decorated for Christmas that gets 4.8 out of 5 with 104 reviews.

In the rankings, the Lantern Path is ahead of the Christmas markets at Salzburg (Austria), Tallinn (Estonia), Zagreb (Croatia), Riga (Latvia), Hallein (Austria) or Geltendorf (Germany).

For those who have not yet seen the Lantern Trail this year, or for those who want to be surprised one last time, the attraction can be visited until Friday 30 December.
