Antoine Alléno, son of multi-starred chef Yannick Alléno, died Sunday evening after being hit in Paris (7th arrondissement) by a man in a stolen vehicle, we learned from concordant sources. An investigation has been opened for “aggravated manslaughter” and a man was taken into custody shortly after the incident, said the Paris prosecutor’s office. The facts took place shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday, after the theft of a luxury vehicle, an Audi RS6, in front of a restaurant in the 7th arrondissement of the capital. The thief reportedly presented a fake ticket to the valet before slipping behind the wheel and fleeing. At the corner of Place de la Résistance and Avenue Bosquet, very close to the Alma bridge, when he was not being pursued, he hit a VTC and a scooter which were stopped at a traffic light red. The driver of the scooter, Antoine Alléno, died on the spot. Suffering from multiple bruises, the passenger of the scooter and the driver of the VTC were transported to the hospital without their vital prognosis being engaged.
According to our information, the driver in question is a 25-year-old young man known to the police and residing in Bezons.
The driver of the stolen vehicle fled on foot just after the impact but was quickly arrested by an off-duty police officer from the Paris metropolitan area security department (DSPAP). The suspect was driving while intoxicated. He was wanted for a prison sentence to be served, indicates a police source. According to our information, he is a young man of 25 known to the police and domiciled in Bezons (Val-d’Oise).
