Metz. Pierozek, a new Polish restaurant, will open in the city center: discover its concept

A new country has been added to the restaurant map of Metz (Moselle). Within ten days, the Poland will be represented.

Indeed, the Polish restaurant Pierozek will open its doors by the second week of July 2022. It is the first in the city and it will be located on rue de la Pierre-Hardie.

For the occasion, the restaurant team is going to offer a special operation: a free tasting of pierogikinds of ravioli filled with multiple ingredients, the most famous element of Polish gastronomy.

Be served as quickly as in a fast food but with homemade products

At the helm of the project, we find Oskar Owczarek and his mother, Anna. The current manager of the tattoo parlor Owink Tattoo will offer the cuisine of the country he left at the age of 13. He explains the concept of settlement to Lorraine News.

At noon, I don’t have much time to eat. Except that around my living room, there are only fast food restaurants where it’s very greasy and where the food isn’t of good quality. So I want to propose a concept of fast food but where everything would be homemade and made from regional products, where we could eat healthy.

The pierogi, star products on the menu, will be available in five recipes: chicken meat and sauerkraut, cottage cheese along with potatowith a supplement truffle possible, to spinach or even to mushrooms. They will be offered in boxes of 8, 12, 24 or even 30 pieces, and even in a sweet version for dessert.

These ravioli are boiled or fried in a pan. “If you have leftovers, you can cook them in a frying pan the next day,” adds Oskar Owczarek. No mess!

Culinary specialties, Polish spirits…

In addition to the pierogi, the public will be able to discover the kopytka (quenelles of potatoes and fromage blanc accompanied by pork ribs) or the klusky (steamed bread dumplings).

On site, customers can also sample polish beers and different varieties of vodkas “with natural flavors,” says Oskar Owczarek.

Beyond a simple restaurant, the manager of Owink Tattoo would like to make the establishment “a meeting place for people from the Polish community”. He also intends to offer people of Polish origin the opportunity to come and work there.

Pierozek will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. continuously and from Thursday to Saturday, the establishment will be able to occupy a bar function until 1 a.m. (after 11 p.m., no food will be served).
