It can be attributed as much to traditional establishments as to tables with very creative chefs. Each year, alongside the stars that crown the best gastronomic haunts, the Michelin guide awards “Bibs Gourmands” to restaurants where you can eat three complete dishes of your choice for around 39 euros. They are highlighted for “their generosity and excellent value for money”.
This year, Liège has three addresses selected along these lines.
First of all, there is the Cantinetta in Grivegnée. This trattoria, restaurant, wine bar and caterer, open since 1998, is well known to lovers of Italian cuisine served simply, but inventively and made with excellent products. The red guide spotted and listed it for the first time this year.
The Bistrot d’en Face was already rated last year. With its famous Bistro ham, baked in the oven, its good Béarnaise sauce and its hand-cut fries, the restaurant in the historic center offers rather traditional but very well-prepared cuisine. Brasserie dishes: balls from Liège, white cassoulet like in Toulouse, vol au vent, stuffed guinea fowl…
Another well-known address, La Cuisine de Yannick (in Féronstrée) also offers traditional cuisine with distinct flavors that delight gourmet customers who quickly become regulars. Good wines accompany the whole. All this for 10 years.
