This Tuesday, at least one stray dog killed several sheep on a farm near the town of Chenereilles. This is the second attack suffered by the breeder since February.
In February, four sheep had been killed. On Tuesday, the results are identical. A neighbor was also a victim with an animal killed three weeks ago. Fabrice and Nadège Valentin, breeders in Chenereilles, are fed up to see their animals being attacked in this way by stray dogs.
According to them, it is the same dogs, one of which is large and black, which are the authors of the two attacks. “We are not here to feed dogs in distress”, laments Nadège Valentin who is worried about the attitude that these dogs could have in front of children.
This Tuesday morning, Fabrice Valentin saw a dog run away. Three Ouessant sheep and one Causse du Lot sheep, the most vulnerable, succumbed to fangs. A dwarf goat and a Noire du Velay were spared. “One of the ewes had already been injured in February and had recovered. This time, she was not so lucky”, regrets Fabrice Valentin who wonders about the rest of his flock. “The dog passed under a high fence to enter the enclosure. We had pet sheep. I bring the sheep in at night. Dogs are dragging everywhere, this situation makes people groan.”
