Affectionate kitten with bear ears and crooked paws finds a way to cuddle

Earlier this year, a kitten with bent front legs was brought to Friends for Life Rescue Network, a Los Angeles rescue group. The kitten was born with contracted ligaments and tendons in both front wrists, which caused his legs to become deformed.

Mel Lamprey and her husband Zane, the rescue’s foster volunteers, stepped up to help. The little kitten became an affectionate companion and quickly discovered a weakness for cuddles; he did indeed immediately seek the affection of his new masters.

An affectionate kitten with bear ears and crooked paws finds a way to cuddle.

They named her Quill and put her in physical therapy several times a day to help correct her little legs. Despite his small size, he is a great champion in his physical therapy.

Therapy begins with warming his paws with a heating pad. They are then massaged and stretched to relax the tendons and ligaments in hopes of realigning the growing bones.

The kitten will soon be receiving weekly splints to further improve her range of motion. He is unfazed by the challenges presented to him and does not seem to think he is any different. Quill adores his foster family and is expert at getting their attention and lots of hugs.

He is a very curious and very sweet kitten, and is very spoiled. He is so adorable that it is impossible not to give her love. The cuddly kitten loves to play and explore. Like other kittens, he likes to go on adventures, without even thinking of the limits of his twisted little paws.

Quill takes every opportunity to cuddle with his masters. If he sees them pass, he calls them with his little meows and does not accept no for an answer. The adorable feline spends most of its time on the neck of its carer, its favorite “bed”.

After every meal, he insists on getting well-deserved hugs. Then he falls asleep purring in his arms, like a baby. Mel and Zane have an older cat named Chester, whom they cared for after a rough start. The red-haired boy immediately bonded with the new kid and an instant bond was formed, as if he knew exactly what Quill needed.

Chester has taken on the role of Quill’s big brother, and the feline is enjoying every moment with him. He keeps it clean and neat and is attentive to its needs.
